NewFest is committed to soliciting captioning or full subtitling for all films screening at The 35th Annual New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival. Filmmakers are able to opt-in to open captioning. Scroll down to the dropdown titled “List of films with captions” for a working list of films with 100% captioning. This list will continue to be updated until the festival.

All foreign-language films are screened in their original language with English subtitles. Films that are 100% subtitled are included in the below list in the dropdown titled “List of films with captions”

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) are available at SVA Theatre, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), and Nitehawk Cinema Prospect Park. The LGBT Community Center does not currently support Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs).

One support person accompanying a person with a disability will be allowed to enter Festival events and screenings free of charge, provided the main attendee has a ticket. Support persons are required to obtain a free ticket by emailing us at boxoffice@newfest.org before or during October 12-October 24, 2pm-9pm EST. Tickets are subject to availability and must be arranged in advance of the screening.

NewFest welcomes audience members with service animals. Service animals are allowed with verification at all venues in areas that are open to the public.

Though NewFest is unable to provide a scent-free environment, please contact NewFest or venue staff if you need assistance. Should you have an allergy to scented products and require a change in your seating location, please consult with our venue staff and we will relocate you to comparable seating where possible.
