Description

Living in Brooklyn in the 1980s is full of contradictions for Jewish rabbinical student David (Samuel H. Levine, Broadway’s THE INHERITANCE). The young gay man is caught between two worlds: the thrilling private trysts he throws himself into with abandon, and his overbearing, traditional family who threaten to hold him back. Stuck in a rigid and repressive household, David looks to his grandfather (Ron Rifkin, ALIAS) and other Jewish elders around him, who unexpectedly help him find new truths within himself yearning to be discovered and expressed. Winner of Best U.S. Narrative Feature at Outfest, this sexy and serious tale from local New York filmmaker Eric Steel surprises, innovates, and satisfies through its thoughtful and challenging portraiture of identity and desired freedoms.
