SUMMER OF 85
Two teenage boys meet on the coast of Normandy and begin a life-changing summer in a sexy and electric ode to youth from celebrated French auteur François Ozon
Description
The new masterpiece from celebrated French auteur François Ozon, SUMMER OF 85 is a nostalgic look at first loves and reckless adolescence sans the rose-colored glasses we've come to expect from traditional coming-of-age stories.
This Spotlight film will premiere Saturday October 17 at 8PM and remain available through the end of the Festival
Alexis (Félix Lefebvre) is an average, emotionally volatile 16-year-old boy, questioning both his future and the present opportunities for him in his beachside hometown of Normandy. When a dashing stranger (Benjamin Voisin, in a star-making role) saves him at sea, Alexis' potentially dull summer is quickly upended as he is thrust into the alluring and enigmatic world of his new friend. Propelled by sensuous sun-dappled cinematography, illuminating flashbacks, and lively ensemble work from an all-star French cast, SUMMER OF 85 is an electric ode to youth, self-discovery, and the possibilities that lay in front of us all.
