GO FISH

In celebration of its 40th Anniversary, Sundance is screening classics from across the canon. The new 4K restoration of Rose Troche’s GO FISH (30th anniversary) portrays five twenty-something gals navigating a resoundingly lesbian universe of dating, fashion crises, love, and desire. GRACE

From the director of PURE (New York City Premiere, NewFest32), Natalie Jasmine Harris’ second short GRACE shares a 1950s Southern teen as she questions her faith and sexuality.

I SAW THE TV GLOW

Friend of NewFest Jane Schoenbrun (Moderator at Queering the Canon: THE DOOM GENERATION) releases their anticipated follow-up to WE’RE ALL GOING TO THE WORLD’S FAIR titled I SAW THE TV GLOW starring Justice Smith, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Helena Howard, and Phoebe Bridgers.

Iconic directing duo Los Javis (Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo) — responsible for Max’s Veneno — are showcasing their latest episodic work, La Mesías, at Sundance.

PARIAH

In addition to GO FISH, the canonical PARIAH (Dee Rees) returns to Utah after a long history with the festival. In 2021, we had a 10th Anniversary screening of the film at NewFest33.

Add Dylan O’Brien, Murray Bartlett, and Indya Moore and you’ve got one of the most anticipated queer films of the year.
