Description
Nina and Madeleine have enjoyed a domestically blissful life in the South of France for decades, but when one of the women faces a medical emergency, the pair’s clandestine relationship arrives at a crossroads. An all-too-rare depiction of sexually vital women of a certain age, TWO OF US is by turns romantic, mournful, and darkly comic. Fassbinder favorite Barbara Sukowa (LOLA, HANNAH ARENDT) gives a ferocious performance as Nina in this complex and compelling breakout from the Toronto International Film Festival.
