KEYBOARD FANTASIES: THE BEVERLY GLENN-COPELAND STORY
A tender portrait of an underground electronic music legend enjoying a late-in-life career renaissance
Description
Lovingly stitched together from contemporary interviews, family photos, and archival footage, KEYBOARD FANTASIES: THE BEVERLY GLENN-COPELAND STORY is a stunning ode to its titular star, his legacy in electronic music, advocacy for transgender rights, and current work as a 76-year-old touring performer. Glenn Copeland started himself on a sonic odyssey while just a college student at McGill University, a journey which would make him a cult legend and forever alter his life. Written and performed entirely on early synthesizers and drum machines in 1986, Copeland's self-released debut album 'Keyboard Fantasies' became an underground hit with new generations, inspiring many future stars of the genre and leading to a career renaissance decades after its creation. Posy Dixon's extraordinary documentary looks at the man behind the musical movement and honors this pioneer with the insightful, tender portrait he's always deserved.
