At an artists’ retreat, insecure trans cartoonist Al is caught in a love triangle between his best friend and his creative nemesis.
Description
Al, a 25-year-old trans guy stuck drawing comics that never quite land, gets his shot at a week-long artists’ intensive. But the retreat brings an unwelcome surprise: Mason Cash, an underground cartoonist who embodies everything Al is not, and who’s already charming his best friend Jesse. Suddenly Al finds himself competing with his creative idol for the person he might be in love with, and the only way through is to finally make the work he’s been too scared to make.
Told partly in animation, SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME is a raunchy trans romcom about bad behavior, big feelings, and what happens when trans people get to be the messy, lovesick heroes of their own stories.
