Docuseries following filmmaker Ry Russo-Young as she turns the camera on her past to explore the meaning of family

Description

After our Advance Screening of the HBO documentary series NUCLEAR FAMILY, we hosted a conversation with the filmmaker and featured cast!

This three-part documentary series from HBO follows filmmaker Ry Russo-Young as she turns the camera on her own past to explore the meaning of family. In the late 70s/early 80s, when the concept of a gay family was inconceivable to most, Ry and her sister Cade were born to two lesbian mothers through sperm donors. When Ry’s idyllic childhood was threatened by an unexpected lawsuit, it sent shockwaves through her family and continues to reverberate in their lives today.

Moderator: Hannah Moch (Board Co-Chair, COLAGE)
