Feng Xia, a 53-year-old Chinese immigrant and mother living in Montreal, has spent her life in duty to her family, her culture, and a loveless marriage. But when she meets Camille, a spirited young Québécoise, Feng Xia’s long-buried desire is finally awakened.
In the balmy and joyful Montreal summer, she embarks on a journey of forbidden love and overdue self-discovery. Starring queer icon Joan Chen in the leading role, MONTREAL, MY BEAUTIFUL follows Feng Xia as she chooses herself, confronts her identity, and reckons with the steep cost of liberation.
