ALL THE COLOURS OF THE WORLD ARE BETWEEN BLACK AND WHITE
Two men fall tentatively in love in Lagos in 2023’s Berlinale Teddy Award winner
Description
A delivery driver and a photographer fall tentatively in love in this evocative film from Nigeria. Against the backdrop of a bustling Lagos, filmmaker Babatunde Apalowo weaves a poignant story of connection in a community still learning to recognize and accept queer love.
Winner of the Teddy Award at Berlinale 2023, this restrained, tender story follows two men navigating a society in which same-sex relations remain taboo and even punishable. With stunning cinematography that captures both the intimate connections between the characters and the busy metropolis around them, this film emerges as a politically significant narrative about finding love where you least expect it.
