Francis Lee’s stunner AMMONITE to open The 32nd Annual New York LGBTQ Film Festival!
We are thrilled to announce AMMONITE as the Opening Night selection of The 32nd Annual New York LGBTQ Film Festival.
Directed by NewFest alum Francis Lee (GOD’S OWN COUNTRY), AMMONITE features an incredible cast, led by Academy Award-winner Kate Winslet and Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan. Set in 1840’s England, the film tells the story of acclaimed but overlooked fossil hunter Mary Anning and a young woman sent to convalesce by the sea as they develop an intense relationship, altering both of their lives forever.
In addition, Kate Winslet will present the inaugural World Queer Visionary Award to Francis Lee as part of the evening’s festivities!
The film will screen exclusively as a drive-in at The Queens Drive-In at Flushing Meadows Corona Park on October 16, 2020. Tickets for Opening Night will go on sale September 23, but you can guarantee your seat (in your car!) by purchasing a Gold or Diamond Pass now.
