WAY DOWN
Five (almost) 30-year-old queer artists navigate life and heartache in New York City in this episodic musical series
Description
The road to rock bottom is littered with broken dreams for a group of pushing-30 NYC artists in this captivating episodic musical series. These down-and-out East Village denizens pursue their passions, navigate messy relationships, and unsuccessfully communicate their needs to one another, all while trying to make rent in the city’s most ass-kicking neighborhood.
Featuring original music performed by a dynamic ensemble of homegrown talent, the six-episode series introduces us to Alex, a struggling photographer and bass player for a ragtag band, and their girlfriend/bandmate Tyler who is currently in grad school. Meanwhile, Sherrie, Alex’s ex-girlfriend-turned-coworker, is attempting to mount a production of her play in the face of unexpected barriers. Oh, and they all have to deal with each other, which isn’t gonna be easy. It’s about to go down.
This film will be followed by a Q&A.
