Showcasing trans films that shatter expectations, this radical program reveals the power of our trans and gender non-conforming community as their stories unfold in vibrant New York City nightlife, gender reveal parties, futuristic T4T cities and post-apocalyptic and mythological worlds. Spotlighting bold, unapologetic narratives where trans characters take center stage, these films reveal unique and defiant stories of perseverance and transformation.

CHLOE AND JAME

ANNARCHY ARTIST
Dir. Tempest Creation, 9 min, USA
Annarchy Artist is a short documentary that observes a day in the life of the eponymous performer as she unveils the childhood roots of her artistic practice as a nightlife gogo dancer and drag queen.


CANDYLAND
Dir. David Gil, 12 min, USA
An American teenager, conditioned to view gun violence as a game, and his trans mother, who is struggling with access to hormones face the challenges of an inevitable adrenaline crash and their own addictive tendencies on their journey to Candyland.


SATURN RISIN9
Dirs. Tiare Ribeaux, Jody Stillwater, 11 min, USA
In a poetic mix of dance, visual narrative, performance, and documentary, Saturn Risin9 follows queer performance artist Saturn on their return home to the Bay Area. We follow their journey of perseverance centering self discovery, affirmation, healing and creative expansion poetically told through fantastical imagery and non-linear narrative.


NOTES ON A SIREN

In short film Notes on a Siren, director Justice Jamal Jones transforms the myth of the Siren and the Sailor through the lens of Black queerness and transness – set against the backdrop of Palm Heights in the Cayman Islands.

BINDERBURN

GENDER REVEAL
Dir. Mo Matton, 13 min, Canada
Rhys, a dedicated people pleaser, winds up at their boss’ gender reveal party with their two partners. The trans throuple soon realizes that they are dealing with more than they were prepared for and their ability to survive the event comes into question.
