A compassionate, crowd-pleasing portrait of Sally Ride, her groundbreaking trip to space, and the loving 27-year romance with her life partner, Tam O’Shaughnessy

Description

New York Premiere

Outdoor Screening

This festival favorite from Sundance and SXSW shares a compassionate and rousing portrait of the iconic Sally Ride. Sally became the first American woman to blast off into space, but beneath her unflappable composure she kept her fully authentic self from the flashing lightbulbs and cameras. Revealing the romance and sacrifices of their 27 years together, Sally’s life partner Tam O’Shaughnessy shares the full story for the first time of this complex and iconic astronaut.

Directed by Emmy® Award-winning filmmaker Cristina Costantini, SALLY combines dynamic archival footage, and a marvelous soundtrack, and deeply personal testimonials to tell the full, unapologetic truth of an American pioneer.
