The NewFest38 Calendar

Exclusive interview and performance footage from 1991 capture Chavela Vargas in her own words: a woman who dared to dress, speak, sing, and dream her extraordinary life into being.

Raised to be a Pentecostal minister, Ron Athey was speaking in tongues by age 10, a heroin addict by 17, and a performance artist by 23. This documentary spends time with Athey on and off stage.

Five artists present a docu-poem in six verses about artists breathing through chaos.
