NewDraft Screenplay Reading

NewDraft, our Screenplay Competition & Reading Series is a program intended to support and cultivate new LGBT screenplays and screenwriters.

We were pleased to present a reading of one of the two winners from 2008’s NewDraft competition, Soman Chainani’s LOVE MARRIAGE.

At the award ceremony on Thursday the 11th, we will announce also announce the two winners, of this year’s contest who will receive staged screenplay readings in the fall of 2009 and at next year’s festival in 2010.

Past NewFest staged screenplay readings have all become successfully filmed works, including Another Gay Movie, Another Gay Sequel, and Were the World Mine.
